Our Commitment

At the NCP, we recognise that your personal information is very important to you and we are committed to promoting confidence in the manner in which your personal information is handled by us. The following is a general summary of the way we handle personal information, gathered in the course of using this web site.

Collection

We do not collect personal information about you unless it is reasonably necessary for providing products, services or information to you. We will, where reasonable and practical to do so, collect that information direct from you.

Note that if you do not provide full, complete and accurate information we request, the information and services that we provide to you may be more limited in nature.

Use and Disclosure

We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected and any directly related purpose. We will not disclose your personal information to anyone without your consent, unless required to do so by law or to enforce the website terms of use or any other contract we have with you, or where that disclosure is to one our associates (but only for the purposes collected). To fulfil those purposes we may provide access to our information technology service providers, our mailing house and our subcontractors.

By giving us your personal information you are consenting to our using your personal information for the purpose of writing to you to inform you about ourselves, and about our products and services (including by electronic mail). You can tell us at any time that you do not wish to receive any further materials of this nature. If you do, we will stop sending you those materials.

Access and Correction

You can request access to the personal information we have collected from you and obtain a more in depth explanation about how we handle your personal information by e-mailing us at national.office@ncp.catholic.org.au.

If you wish to change your personal information where it is incorrect, or wish to have your personal information deleted, please notify us as above. We will facilitate access to you of your personal information by, for example, allowing an inspection of your personal information in person, or by providing copies or a summary of relevant documents, depending on what is most appropriate in the circumstances. Any charge we make for providing access will be reasonable. Note that we need not provide access to personal information to you in several types of situations, but if we deny access we will give you reasons for doing so.

Cookies

We also use cookies when you visit our web site. A cookie is a small data file that is downloaded from our web site and stored on a text file on your hard drive. The information is made up of a string of letters and numbers which uniquely identifies your user name or password that you may have already registered on our web site. The information collected is used to authenticate or identify you when you have logged on to our web site, without requiring you to re-enter your user name and password to move from page to page. Complaints Resolution

If you are not satisfied with the way we handle your personal information, you can complain to us and we will try to have your complaint handled efficiently. We believe that in receiving your complaint, we are provided with a valuable opportunity to improve the services we provide, and maintain your confidence in us and in our services.

To lodge a complaint you may notify us by e-mailing us at national.office@ncp.catholic.org.au with details of your complaint, or otherwise let us know of your complaint (preferably in writing). We will try to investigate and advise you of the outcome of a complaint as soon as possible.
